Why we built CasaRecord

CasaRecord started with a problem we were experiencing ourselves. Once we began renting our condo owner-direct instead of relying on OTA platforms, trust became part of almost every conversation.

We responded to rental posts on Facebook, created a dedicated Instagram account for the condo, and tried to make everything as transparent as possible. But when it came time to ask for a deposit, travelers were often understandably cautious because they had no independent way to confirm that the person asking for payment was actually connected to the property.

That was the problem we set out to solve: give travelers a simple way to independently verify the property and the exact rental contact they are dealing with before sending money.

Built from a real owner-direct experience

CasaRecord grew out of the questions and hesitation we saw first-hand as owner-direct hosts. We wanted a better answer than simply asking a traveler to trust a Facebook profile, an Instagram page, or our word.

My wife has been part of CasaRecord from the beginning, helping test ideas, giving feedback, recording voiceovers, and pushing me to keep going as the product took shape.

I have handled most of the technical building, but the goal has stayed the same from the start: create an independent verification layer that helps both travelers and legitimate rental owners establish trust before money changes hands.

What CasaRecord is, and what it is not

CasaRecord is a verification layer for owner-direct short-term rentals. It helps confirm property relationships and the exact contact information a traveler already has.

CasaRecord is not a marketplace, booking platform, payment processor, or guarantee that a transaction is safe. Verification provides specific facts that travelers can use as part of their own decision-making.
